Lunar Eclipse, Feb. 20, 2008
Friday, February 22nd, 2008
Gear: Rebel XTi, 400F5.6L, Tripod w/remote release
Exp: 7 exposures at multiple settings
I’ve been wanting to post this image on the bog for a couple days now but I haven’t had time to do so. But finally here she is… This shot is a composite of 7 images taken between about 8:45pm and 11:45pm on February 20th, 2008. The exposures are all at f/8.0 or f/10.0 and the shutter speeds are between 1/250 sec and 1/3 sec at iso 200 with the exception of the center image that was taken at iso 1600. The final images where processed and then combined in photoshop to make the final image you see above. It was fun but cold since it was about 14F here in N.E. Ohio that night. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take the images since it was a beautifully clear night and the last total lunar eclipse until 2010.
